Stress comes in many forms: physical, chemical, nutritional, emotional, mental, etc. Since chronic stress can contribute to many undesirable health conditions, it is important to keep it in check so that it doesn’t continue to be ongoing.
Here are a few tips to help:
1) Exercise: burning up excess adrenaline from stress is important. Choose an exercise that you enjoy doing so you will stick to it. Exercising at the end of a stressful day may even minimize belly fat, another contributor to poor health.
2) Diffuse your favorite essential oils: I use Young Living, because I like the what I see happening at their farms and their seed-to-seal promise. My favorites to diffuse during stressful times are Joy, Release, Frankincense, and Stress Away.
3) Walk barefoot in nature: There is a lot of information available about “grounding” and getting back to nature. It is so important to maintain that connection with the earth.
4) Pray/meditate: even a few minutes of prayer and meditation has been shown to calm stressful brain activity. Combining with diffusing essentials is amazing.
5) Don’t multitask: it’s rarely effective anyway, and it can really disrupt brainwaves!
6) Eat real, organic food: this helps to minimize the chemicals that are irritants to your whole body, but especially your nerve system.
In our fast-paced lives, it’s so helpful to set priorities and slow down a bit. Your body, mind, and spirits will thank you!
